Chief Draughtsman/Drawing Office Manager

We wish to recruit a Chief draughtsman at our Head Office in Newport South Wales.
The successful candidate will be required to manage all aspects of the operation of our Drawing Office as well as monitoring technical standards.
The role will entail working closely with draughtspersons, contracts managers and other in-house staff engagaged in manufacturing/fabrication and construction , as well as representatives from clients and design proffesionals from outside of the organisation.
Suitable applicants must have good working knowledge of steelwork detailing for various types of structures obtained from working in a drawing office in the structural steelwork fabrication industry.
Good communications, interpersonal and IT skills as well as a willingness to take responsibility and work under pressure will also be ore-requisites.

Structural Steelwork XSteel Detailers

Rowecord Engineering Ltd is a major UK steelwork contractor and has immediate vacancies for a Tekla Structures (Xsteel) draughtspersons.
The suitable applicants must be experienced in steel detailing having served several years within the steelwork industry and be able to use your own initiative , self motivated and work with a minimum of supervision.
Experience of using Tekla Structures 3D modelling is essential, together with the capability of detailing all types of structures.

Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking to employ an experienced Quantity Surveyor with the following attributes:
Minimum of 5 years experience in the steel construction Industry
RICS member not essential but would be desirable
Ability to work within a team
Contractual awareness of differing forms of Contract.
Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point literate, would be an advantage but training can be given.
A career development plan will be offered following discussions with successful candidate.

Chief Engineer

We are seeking a Chief Engineer to lead our design teams.
Candidates should be chartered engineers with the experience and skills to carry out the following with confidence and authority:
Steel structure design including connections.
Managing the impact of design decisions on contractual and commercial issues.
Auditing other designers at all levels.
Represents the company at meetings with clients + design professionals.
Tutoring newly qualified graduates.
Candidates should be able to execute the above to timescales which can be short and frequently changing.
